Choosing the Right Time for ChildcareMany factors will be played out in choosing when to start your child in childcare. There is no perfect or most appropriate age. Financial and family obligations will of course be of prime importance in any decision. This may mean the child going to childcare in its earliest months, in which case the conditions and resources at the centre are the prime consideration. A low ratio of carer to child would be ideal and of course a clean, safe environment.
